Conductor

Debbie Matthews began studying flute aged 9 with Peter Dunkley.  After leaving school she went on to study music at Reading University specialising in analysis and performance.  Flute is not Debbie's only instrument though she does consider it her favourite.  She also studied piano and alto saxophone in her formative years.

Debbie is now an established teacher in the Wiltshire area.  She works peripatetically and as a Wider Opportunities teacher in primary schools.  She has been a Music Development Leader for the Swindon Borough, where she currently leads the SYM Youth Jazz Orchestra and Wind Band.
